Dr Johanna Dale’s research into the cult of Oswald of Northumbria in the high Middle Ages will feature in the British Academy’s virtual summer showcase (19-20 June 2020).
Although it’s disappointing that the Summer Showcase is not able to go ahead as originally planned, a big thanks to the British Academy’s team for finding a way to share a bit of my research with the public during these strange times.
You can read about my research into Oswald’s cult and medieval liturgy in this blog on the British Academy’s website and you can also view a short video in which I explain how Oswald became a surprisingly popular saint in medieval Germany:
You can see the full programme for the event here. Once you’ve learned a bit more about Oswald, do delve into the rest of the blogs and videos!
