Oswald’s connection both to Germany and Peterborough makes him the perfect excuse to encourage German-language learning in the region!
Members of the project team have been working with teachers and pupils in and around Peterborough to develop new resources to support learning at Key Stage 3. In a series of workshops hosted by Oundle School and Peterborough Cathedral we explored the challenges and opportunities of learning German in the UK today and tested out a variety of fun activities connected to stories of Oswald and his (multilingual!) raven. We were joined by around 30 pupils and their teachers from six state and private schools.

Sarah Bowden is now working with Christine Schallmoser to turn the results of these workshops into a resource pack. This pack will include a new German-language version of our animation, translated by award-winning author Kathrin Tordasi. Watch this space!
